Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Jiro Cloud (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to searchjiro.vercel.app, the Jiro search API, and related services. When you self-host Jiro Cloud, you are the data controller and these commitments apply to the software we publish.
2. Data We Collect
Account data: email address and authentication information you provide at signup. Billing data: plan, credit balance, and payment records processed by our payment provider. Query metadata: the endpoints you call, timestamps, and response sizes used for metering and security. We do not require you to submit personal information beyond an email to use the core Service.
3. How We Use Data
We use your data to: authenticate you, meter credit usage, prevent abuse, debug and improve the Service, and comply with legal obligations. Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be used to understand product trends and are never tied back to an identifiable individual.
4. Search Queries & Content
Search queries you send are processed to fulfill the request and are retained briefly for caching, rate-limit enforcement, and abuse investigation. We do not use your proprietary queries to train models. Results returned by upstream engines remain governed by those providers’ terms.
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and minimal analytics to measure performance. We do not sell personal data or use third-party advertising trackers on the dashboard.
6. Subprocessors
We rely on vetted infrastructure providers for hosting, caching (Upstash Redis), object storage (Cloudflare R2), and payments. Each is bound by contractual obligations consistent with this policy. A current list is available on request.
7. Data Retention
We retain account data for the life of your account plus a short wind-down period. Query logs are purged on a rolling basis, typically within 30 days, unless needed for security investigations. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@searchjiro.vercel.app. We respond within the timeframes required by law.
9. Security
We apply encryption in transit, least-privilege access controls, and routine dependency updates. While no system is perfectly secure, we work to protect your data with industry-standard measures and prompt remediation of reported issues.
